MATTY MORRIS

Matty is a Brooklyn-based colorist whose work is rooted in a lifelong love of art, music, and personal expression. Raised in Tennessee and deeply shaped by his residency in New Orleans, his approach to hair carries the punk DIY spirit of both the people and places that have influenced him.

His relationship with hair was initiated by cutting/coloring the hair of his punk friends and cemented through experimenting wherever creativity could take place.Matty has worked closely with friends and mentors, strengthening his craft in NYC since 2023.

Today, Matty's work draws from the fashion and music scenes of downtown, his love of photography + rock & roll, and a lifelong fascination with personal style. He specializes in lived-in color, dimensional blondes, glowing reds, grey blending, and expressive transformations that feel polished without losing their personality.

While especially passionate about working with queer people, Matty welcomes clients of all identities, ages, and backgrounds. He sees hair as a form of self-expression and collaboration-a way to experiment with identity, reclaim your reflection, or simply feel more yourself. His goal is to create hair that feels authentic, confident, and distinctly personal.

Outside the salon, you'll usually find Matty with a camera or book in hand, finding new music on NTSradio, or exploring the city on his bike. All of these things continue to inform the way he sees his work: as another form of portraiture. Hair is an opportunity to guide clients to feeling confident, seen, and wholly themselves.
